The Ellen Hines Smith Girls' Home is a private, nonprofit organization offering around the clock residential care for girls 11 to 19 years old. The Home is dedicated to providing a caring, therapeutic, and home-like environment. All the girls in our care are victims of traumatic circumstances, most often abuse and neglect. When it is not in the best interests of a child to return home, we offer a place to heal and gain the skills necessary for productive and meaningful lives in the future.

Chamlee Loscuito, Executive Director, has worked with children, youth and families in some capacity for over 12 years and has always been interested in working with communities to offer families supportive resources that are proven to work. This interest led her to obtain a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies from Samford University, and later a Master of Social Work from Boston University. Chamlee is working to build awareness of needs and struggles that many Ellen Hines Smith Girls' Home residents face, and to show some tangible ways that community members may get involved. Additionally, all staff are working hard to provide the best services available, and to evaluate programming to ensure that we are good stewards of community resources and the trust that has been placed in us to care for at-risk, adolescent girls.

Current support is provided by local businesses and civic groups, United Way of the Piedmont, Jr. League of Spartanburg, churches, individual donors, Spartanburg County, the Department of Health and Human Services, the South Carolina Department of Social Services and Juvenile Justice and other private foundations.
