The Duncan Estate
Cory and Danielle Sanders are the owners of The Duncan Estate. They also work together and travel all over the country to manage on-site sponsorships at major events for corporate clients. They travel approximately 80% of the year to events including Nascar races, music festivals, art and food festivals, state fairs, and sporting events. Their company (Crunchy Promotions) has represented clients including Nintendo, Royal Caribbean, Combos, Pepperidge Farm, Nicorette, Tyson, Lean Cuisine, and many, more.
Corey is originally from California, and Danielle is from New York City. Through their travels they discovered Spartanburg. In their first visit they met members of the Preservation Trust, and they enthusiastically told them about Hub Bub, Partners for Active Living, Nutrition Council, and Upstate Forever - organizations all run by young adults around their same age (they were in their late 20's at the time). They instantly fell in love with the young energy in Spartanburg, dedicated to revitalizing the downtown. Since their job allows them to be "based" anywhere, they bought a historic fixer-upper arts & crafts bungalow in Hampton Heights after only a 1 day visit to Spartanburg. They moved to Spartanburg knowing no one, but within a few months of living here, Corey's dad moved to Hampton Heights from California, and Danielle's parents sold their house in NYC and bought a house in Hampton Heights, as well.
After 2 years enjoying their home in Hampton Heights, they stumbled upon a beautiful historic home on 4 acres in the Duncan Park area of Spartanburg.
(You can find the history of the house on their website)
With their background in event marketing, they saw a business opportunity.
They purchased the property in 2007, spent 6 months on renovations and landscaping, and the inaugural event for the Duncan Estate was their own wedding on April 26, 2008. Since then, they have hosted over 20 weddings at the Duncan Estate, as well as other events including holiday, charity, and other celebrations.
The Duncan Estate has also been the location for TV shows, local commercial filming, catalog photography and photography shoots. They are happy they created the Duncan Estate because it allows them to balance their time between traveling with Crunchy Promotions and staying home in the city they love and feel such passion for. They are also happy to have created a business which contributes to the growth of Spartanburg - the Duncan Estate has attracted brides from as far away as Florida, Atlanta, Virginia, and Tennessee. They have donated the Duncan Estate to numerous local non-profit organizations for their fundraising events and meetings. Events hosted at the Duncan Estate benefit the talented vendors we have in Spartanburg, including caterers, photographers, florists, musicians, etc.
