The Advent Shoppe

The Advent Shoppe

The Advent Shoppe, a ministry of the Church of the Advent, since November of 2008, is located in Satterlee Hall next to the Church. Bill Hunter, manager of the Shoppe, explained that it is staffed by volunteers and all profits go to Community Outreach.

The Advent Shoppe

The Shoppe is unique not only in the assortment of merchandise, but it is one of two alliance stores of Ten Thousand Villages, in South Carolina. Ten Thousand Villages, a ministry of the Mennonite Church, is a nonprofit program that provides fair income to Third World people by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America. These artisans would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed. The Shoppe showcases exclusive handmade gift items, handbags, and jewelry from these artisans.
