Boys & Girls Club

The mission of Boys & Girls Club of the Upstate is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Upstate serves over 1400 children each day. They operate 13 Boys & Girls Clubs in two counties. Their Clubs are open every week day during the school year from 2:30 until 6:00 pm. Summer camps run all day for most of the summer. Club members only pay a small annual membership fee ($5 to $10). Each week Club members participate in programs and activities that cover five core areas: Character & Leadership, Education & Careers, Health & Life Skills, Arts, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.

Boys & Girls Club

Their school-based Club is proven to change the circumstances of at-risk girls and boys. They keep them safe and supervised in their school buildings after school during the highest risk time of day for youth mischief and youth victimization. Outcomes from their Clubs demonstrate positive impacts on academic performance, school behavior, school attendance, and graduation rates.

Boys & Girls Club

Their results demonstrate that regular attendance in an educationally-enhanced Boys & Girls Club during the elementary school years helps a child take advantage of their education, get along with others and like school. These are key intermediate outcomes leading to the long-term goal they have for all children - productive, responsible, and caring citizens. They help children BE GREAT!
