Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Celebration

Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium
This celebration began more than a decade ago with just a small group of people gathered around City Hall's flagpole. The purpose was to reflect on the words and message of Dr. King's life. The celebration now hosts national speakers and over 3,000 participants.

Assault on Mt. Mitchell

Begins in front of Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium at 6:30 am
Go the distance on your bicycle by covering over 100 miles and climbing more than 11,000 feet to reach the peak of Mount Mitchell, the highest point in the Appalachian Mountains. If you prefer the sidelines, join the early morning crowds as we give the competitive cyclists a rousing sendoff up the mountain.
